Preschool Programs

Welcome to our Preschool Programs!  The Merced County Community Action Agency has five State-funded preschool sites within Merced County.  We offer full and part-day, year round preschool programs for qualifying children from 3-5 years of age who are not yet eligible for Kindergarten.  All sites provide services in English and Spanish. Our mission is to work within our communities to provide comprehensive, top quality services to participating children and families: one child, one family at a time. Click here to see our school calendar.

Families must meet income eligibility requirements for all programs, and those families requesting full-day services must also meet need requirements. Click here to see if you qualify.

Each of our preschool sites offers a play-based program with developmentally appropriate educational activities for young children.  Our program includes activities in music and movement, art, language development, computer activities, physical development, science, math, and social skills.  We offer well balanced and nutritious meals and snacks.  We strive to give every child enriching experiences, opportunities for socialization, and preparation for kindergarten and the years ahead. Click here to learn more about our curriculum.

Our staff are fully trained and committed to the field of early care and education.  Staff members work with parents to provide quality services to enhance children’s development.  Children are assessed twice per year using the Desired Results Developmental Profiles.  Parent conferences are held after each assessment to encourage parental involvement in the process.
